About Psychotherapy and EMDR

What is Psychotherapy?

Making the decision to embark on psychotherapy is often the hardest step, on what can be rewarding and life-changing journey. We all face challenges in our lives, which at times, may feel overwhelming or too difficult to cope with. Whether you would like support for a specific issue, feel the need to make changes in your life or simply seek personal development, psychotherapy offers a safe and confidential space to talk about your life and anything that may be confusing, painful or uncomfortable. It offeres for you to share your emotions, feelings and thoughts.

We will work together to discover what you want to change and how to release the block to your performance, creativity or your ability to engage and love other. We will target the root causes of your issues and help your brain re-wire more adaptive neural networks. This will automatically and organically lead to a more peaceful and satisfying experience of living in the world.

I aim to create an environment where you can find your own solutions and direction. Through coming to understand the origins of your difficulties and developing a more empathic relationship with yourself you can grow to face your life with greater confidence, fulfillment and authentic.

    What Benefits can be Expected?

Counselling and psychotherapy is an opportunity to talk about concerns and issues that you might find difficult to share with people around you. Therapy is a break from everyday life, a time to reflect upon what matters to you. Counselling helps us gain greater awareness. I believe that this new understanding enables us to make fresh choices and create a more meaningful life.

    Anxiety, Depression, Emptiness

Most of us experience anxiety and depression at times in our lives. The challenges of life can become overwhelming and leave us feeling low or stuck. A lack of direction and feelings of emptiness can be difficult to cope with. Life may seem meaningless. Counselling can help you make sense of what you are going through and help you live more purposefully.

    Relationship issues

Relationships are an important part of our lives. Difficulties with intimacy or commitment, questions about desire or sexual problems can stand in the way of a satisfying relationship. Past relationships sometimes impact on our present ones. Creating romantic relationships or friendships may feel like an impossible step. Counselling will help you explore and understand how you relate to others and can facilitate your work towards more fulfilling relationships.

    Work and Performance

Issues with performance or creativity, burn out, stress, communication problems with colleagues and management, in need of a career change… Difficulties at work can become overwhelming and when unresolved often start to affect the rest of our lives. Counselling and psychotherapy can help you address communication issues, help you manage stress and fulfil your potential or be a valuable support throughout a career change.

    Gender and Sexuality

Whether you have concerns, issues or questions in relation to your gender or your sexuality, counselling is a safe and non-judgemental space where you can explore these dimensions of your life.

    What is EMDR?
